  7. Why you should believe...

By now we’ve all come across Aloe Vera in many different guises, from skincare to shampoo, lotions, cosmetics, vitamins and even drinks. While there’s no doubt that this succulent, spiky little wonder has many valuable uses, it’s time for Vera to step aside and make way for its impressive cousin, Aloe Ferox.

Aloe Ferox, sometimes known simply as aloe or bitter aloe, grows naturally in the Southern African Cape and is 20 times stronger than Aloe Vera. This is due to the plant producing 20 times more bitter sap (anthraquinone) than Aloe Vera, which is the magic ingredient that Organic Aloe Ferox gel harnesses to treat almost any and all skin problems.

This impressive plant also offers some surprising natural health benefits for a range of symptoms; its extract has even been referred to as a ‘pharmacy in a plant’. It isn’t difficult to see why, as Aloe Ferox has been shown to ease heartburn and acid reflux, reduce cholesterol, improve the symptoms of IBS and strengthen the immune system. The plant’s incredible properties are also often linked to the prevention of cancer and tumours. Even more health benefits of this super plant are still being discovered, with ongoing research pointing towards Aloe Ferox successfully reducing allergy symptoms as well as having real potential to alleviate arthritic pain. In gel form, Aloe Ferox is most often used as a treatment for various skin issues.

Part of what makes Aloe Ferox gel so special is its ability to naturally and effectively treat multiple skin types for multiple problems. The gel has been proven to have remarkable natural healing abilities for problem skin; it’s no coincidence that the Latin ‘Ferox’ translates to fierce! With the unique ability to penetrate below the epidermis, carrying its properties to the dehydrated and damaged cells beneath, Aloe Ferox gel is so much more than just another moisturiser. The organic gel is rich in natural glycoproteins, which contain antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties, as well as high levels of antioxidants. These powerful properties can be used to effectively treat skin problems ranging from sunburn, dehydrated skin, eczema and blemishes, to signs of aging, scar tissue, external wounds and acne.

The gel’s ability to simultaneously moisturise, boost collagen production (the most abundant protein in our bodies) and provide antioxidants to your skin is the key to Aloe Ferox’s anti-aging restorative treatment. The gel contains the amino acids lysine and hydroxyproline, which are known to build tissue in skin and collagen, while polysaccharides in the Aloe Ferox act as natural moisturisers. Polysaccharide is just a fancy word for a carbohydrate whose molecules consist of sugar molecules bonded together – who knew carbs made of sugar were so great for our skin? If only the same were true for our waistlines! Fine lines and wrinkles can be noticeably reduced and blemishes and darker spots lightened by the gel. Aloe Ferox can also help to prevent sunburn, another essential for a youthful complexion.

If you fell asleep on the beach and didn’t manage to escape sunburn this time (we’ve all been there), Aloe Ferox gel has you covered. Applying the gel to sunburnt skin provides soothing relief and can even reduce redness. This is due to the extract helping your body to reduce the production of Interleukins, which are responsible for that red, inflamed, almost swollen appearance your skin gets from a sunburn.

Aloe Ferox gel is also often used to treat teenage acne, spotty and damaged skin as it detoxifies, disinfects and fights bacteria with its analgesic properties. As a healing and moisturising gel, it also won’t leave skin feeling tight, dry or flakey. Aside from just making your skin look good, Aloe Ferox gel can also heal your skin of certain wounds and reduce scarring. Wounds are also protected from infection as the gel inhibits microbial growth and fights off bacteria.

So we’ve established that this super gel really does do it all when it comes to skincare. It is ideal for all ages and skin types, and is exceptionally versatile in its abilities to treat anyone, from teens suffering with acne to those of us who may be developing a few little lines here and there. Most importantly, this gel is all natural and organic.

Is natural really better? I hear you say. The answer is yes, and here’s why: the average person uses around 10 different skincare products on their skin daily. Considering that skin acts more like a sponge than a barrier, this means your skin is absorbing roughly 130 chemicals from these products every day. While many of these chemicals may be harmless or only affect our bodies over time, we already know that chemicals like Phthalates, often found in artificial fragrances, are disruptive to hormones and have been linked to infertility, among other unpleasant symptoms.

Don’t be taken in by Aloe Ferox products full of petro chemicals and parabens claiming to be organic. We recommend Natraloe Regenerating Aloe Gel, which is comprised entirely of certified organic base ingredients, plant extracts and oils and clinical grade essential oils, as well as being animal and environment friendly. Go forth and be fierce with your new Aloe Ferox gel skincare routine!

A note about Aloe Ferox: Due to the active ingredients in Aloe Ferox, products containing the plant should not be consumed by women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. The laxative effect of the Aloe Ferox comes fromanthraquinone, which may stimulate uterine contractions and be toxic to young children in very high doses.
